My cactus stopped growing. Is that normal?

It hasn't changed for months. I'm not sure if I'm being overly cautious, but I'm worried about doing something that could harm something that's currently growing fine. I have it placed on a shelf near a window and, although it seems fine, I'm not entirely sure.

Yes if it's winter. They only grow in spring-summer. After several trials, I realized that patience was key. There isn't always a single correct way; it depends a lot on each plant.

It depends on the type of cactus; some are slow-growing like Cephalocereus senilis (old man cactus). You could take a photo of your cactus and use Google Lens if you don’t know which one it is.

And cacti also like direct light; if you have it behind a window, the glass can block the sun's UV rays, so it would have lower light intensity for its growth
