They always turn black on me.
I'm not very good with plants and I learn by trial and error. I don't know if I'm being overly cautious, but I'm worried about ruining something that's currently growing fine.

Let them callous over for 2–3 days before placing them on dry soil. Mist only when roots appear, but it's difficult to prevent rot
Sometimes I did nothing and that was exactly what they needed. There's not always a single correct way; it depends a lot on each plant.

If they get sun they will become transparent, the same if you wet them; let roots appear and then moisten little by little—done
