How often should a cactus be watered in winter?

I don't want to kill it from overwatering. I'm not very good with plants and I'm learning by trial and error. I have it placed on a shelf near a window and, although it seems fine, I'm not completely sure.

In winter, almost nothing: every 6–8 weeks or even nothing if it's cold. Something similar happened to me and in the end I decided to wait a bit longer before doing anything. It's not unusual to have doubts; it's happened to almost all of us at some point.
